John Williams Suite from Star Wars
Holst The Planets

Blast off on a musical journey through space, no rocket required!

Imagine you’re sitting under a sparkling night sky. Suddenly, the orchestra begins, and whoosh! you’re jetting past planets, dodging stars, and racing through galaxies. First, you might hear the mighty sound of Mars marching closer, or the twinkling mystery of Neptune far, far away, from The Planets by Holst. Each piece is like a different world, full of surprises, colours, and sounds that paint pictures in your imagination.

Then, get ready, the music shifts, and you’re suddenly in an epic space adventure! You might recognise the heroic themes from Star Wars Suite by John Williams. Close your eyes and you could be flying alongside brave heroes, zooming through space battles, or meeting mysterious creatures on distant planets.

Guiding your journey are the amazing musicians of National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, led by conductor Alexander Shelley and joined by presenter and storyteller Jessie Grimes, NCH Discover Artist-in-Residence. In this relaxed and Autism Friendly concert, they’ll help bring the music to life, showing how instruments can shimmer like stars, boom like rockets, and swirl like galaxies.

So grab your space helmet (imaginary ones welcome!) and get ready for an unforgettable adventure among the stars.

Arrive from 11.30am for free, pre-concert fun activities, designed to engage children and spark their imagination before the concert begins.
