Peter Gabriel Jazz Rock Suite

The RTÉ Concert Orchestra honours the pop legend Peter Gabriel with an exciting and original jazz rock suite, arranged by Reinout Douma, founder and leader of Noordpool Orkest in Groningen. Douma is also the mastermind behind Radiohead, A Jazz Symphony, performed by the RTÉ CO at the NCH 2023 and 2025.

During this special evening, enjoy the well-known music from Peter Gabriel’s time at Genesis, but also many other musical styles that he engaged with during his solo career, such as rock, world music and jazz.

The suite was composed in honor of Peter Gabriel's seventieth birthday, six years ago. With room for adventurous grooves and improvisations where musicians stand together, it promises to be a swinging celebration of now 76 years of the legend.

Peter Gabriel is known as one of the creative minds of the rock group Genesis, as a solo artist and as the creator and driving force behind many major projects. He is seen as one of the most innovative progressive rock artists of the last decades. "My name is Peter Gabriel and primarily I make noises – and ideas".
