Embark on a cosmic journey from the vastness of space to the magic of the silver screen with National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, conducted by Alexander Shelley.

The evening begins with Missy Mazzoli’s Sinfonia (for Orbiting Spheres), hailed by the BBC as “music in the shape of the solar system.” This mesmerizing piece draws listeners into a hypnotic orbit, echoing the motion of planets and stars. One can’t but think of NASA’s successful Artemis II mission this year, humanity’s voyage around the moon.

John Williams’ iconic Suite from Star Wars follows celebrating the 50th anniversary of the beloved film. This heroic and instantly recognizable score brings the thrill of cinema to life in this orchestral portrayal.

The concert concludes with the grandeur of Gustav Holst’s The Planets, where each movement paints a vivid astrological portrait, carrying audiences on a musical journey across the solar system.

A musical voyage of discovery into the cosmos!.
