Experience the soaring beauty of Bruch’s Violin Concerto, one of the most beloved works in the violin repertoire, performed by internationally acclaimed violinist Karen Gomyo, praised as “a first-rate artist of real musical command, vitality, brilliance” (The Chicago Tribune).

The concert opens with Beethoven’s dramatic Egmont Overture, a stirring depiction of heroism and the triumph of freedom, followed by Mieczysław Karłowicz’s atmospheric and melancholic Eternal Songs, a lush, introspective late-Romantic symphonic triptych. The evening concludes with Borodin’s lively Polovtsian Dances, a vibrant and exhilarating finale of sweeping melodies and rhythmic energy. Listen for the famous opening melody, which was later adapted into the Broadway song Stranger in Paradise.

Under the direction of Polish conductor Anna Sułkowska-Migoń, this programme offers a thrilling journey through some of the Romantic era’s most expressive and compelling music.
