The Grammy-Award winning chamber orchestra, founded by the legendary Gidon Kremer in 1997, is considered one of Europe’s most prominent international ensembles, featuring musicians from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. They make an eagerly awaited return to the National Concert Hall after eight years, with distinguished violinist Midori, whose four-decade career has defined excellence at the highest level.

Reflecting Kremer’s signature artistic curiosity, the programme features a range of works from the poised brilliance of Haydn’s Violin Concerto in C major to the Mahler’s Adagio from his Tenth Symphony, a soul-searching movement filled with emotional intensity, and Shostakovich’s final vocal work, The Four Verses of Captain Lebyadkin, setting texts from Dostoyevsky’s Demons.

The concert culminates in a major new commission for Kremer and Midori, a three-movement suite by leading Baltic composers, celebrating the region’s vibrant musical voices and Kremerata Baltica’s enduring commitment to new work.
