National Symphony Orchestra Ireland and NCH Choirs

NSOI & NCH Choirs

In January 2022, National Symphony Orchestra Ireland (NSOI), National Symphony Chorus Ireland (NSCI), NCH Cór Linn, and NCH Cór na nÓg officially transferred from RTÉ to the remit of the National Concert Hall (NCH). Together, they form the cornerstone of the Hall’s artistic and expansive cultural programme, reinforcing Ireland’s national venue for the performance, appreciation, artistic excellence and enjoyment of music.

The NSOI presents a vibrant and varied season of concerts, spanning symphonic, choral, operatic, film, traditional, and popular music. Its programming includes new commissions, educational initiatives, and broadcasts both nationally and internationally. The orchestra also tours regularly, bringing world-class performances to audiences across Ireland.

The NSCI performs and broadcasts at least six major orchestral choral works each season, collaborating with the NSOI and internationally acclaimed conductors and soloists. In addition to these large-scale performances, the chorus also engages in recordings and stand-alone concerts throughout the year.

NCH Cór Linn is a mixed choir of soprano, alto, tenor, and bass (SATB) voices, comprising around 40 singers aged 14–19. Founded in 2018, it offers young vocalists the opportunity to develop advanced repertoire and transition into adult choirs. NCH Cór na nÓg is one of Ireland’s leading children’s choirs, providing vocal training and performance experience for 60 children aged 9–13 in a fun and supportive environment. Both choirs perform regularly at the NCH and at special events nationwide
