Ivor Novello winner Hannah Peel will perform her Mercury Music Prize-nominated album Fir Wave live in the National Concert Hall on Sunday October 1st. On the lauded recording, Peel makes connections and new patterns that mirror the Earth’s ecological cycles through music, with astounding results.  

Peel has just emerged victorious at the Ivor Novello Awards in the Best Television Soundtrack category for her work on The Midwich Cuckoos, other accolades include an Emmy-nomination, a Royal Television Society award and a Music Producers Guild trophy. In addition, the Northern Irish composer has a slew of successful solo albums and collaborative releases to her name including 2016’s Awake But Always Dreaming and 2017’s Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopeia and most recently The Unfolding with Charles Hazelwood’s Paraorchestra which reached No. 1 in the Classical Charts. 

She has worked with Paul Weller on several occasions, including arranging strings and woodwind for his True Meanings album and orchestrating and conducting on live album Other Aspects. 

Hannah’s television and film soundtrack work includes The Midwich Cuckoos (Sky TV), Lisa McGee’s The Deceived, Rogue Agent and Game of Thrones: The Last Watch (HBO). Since 2019, she has been a weekly presenter on the BBC Radio 3 show Night Tracks.
