The National Concert Hall welcomes 2026 with a packed programme of events featuring more wonderful performances by National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, the continuation of our celebrated International Orchestras & Recitals Series, the start of the new Four Seasons Chamber Music Series and much more.
Our International Orchestras & Recitals season continues with a visit from acclaimed cellist Abel Selaocoe who performs Janáček, Debussy, Sibelius and some of his own compositions with the Irish Chamber Orchestra on Thursday 5 February and lauded pianist Kirill Gerstein on Thursday 19 February who treats us to a programme of Brahms and Liszt.
The National Symphony Orchestra Ireland welcomes in the new year with a New Year’s Day Gala featuring conductor Tom Fetherstonhaugh and soprano Ava Dodd performing a programme of Johann Strauss II, Lehár, Korngold and more. February 13 sees Alexander Shelley’s debut as Principal Conductor Designate for Schumann’s Paradise and the Peri and February 20 sees Celine Byrne sing Four Last Songs with Lio Kuokman conducting. In addition, NSOI: Composer Lab takes place on Tuesday 20 January, which showcases the world premiere performances of four new works by 2025 participants.
This time also marks the commencement of The Four Seasons Chamber Music Series, comprising eleven Sunday afternoon recitals of music inspired by nature and the passage of time which starts on Sunday 25 January with Solas agus Scáth, featuring a programme of Max Richter, Amanda Feery, Rheinberger and Brahms. The Series also includes three instalments of the Dublin Song Series, starting with Cautionary Tales on Sunday 1 February, when British-Sri-Lanken baritone Armand Rabot and Irish pianist Dearbhla Collins explore works by Schubert, Wolf, and Liza Lehmann.
Other highlights in the programme include Midwinter: An Evening with Michael Harding on Friday 9 January for reflections and storytelling with the great writer, The Definitive Rat Pack on Saturday 17 January for fans of the 50s crooners, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra Presents Love, Loss and Lipstick: A Valentine’s Cabaret on Saturday 14 February for the romantics amongst us and there’s much more.
Family activities during this period include Symphony Shorts: Discover Scheherazade: 1001 Tales to Save a Life with NSOI on Sat 17 January, King of the Fairies and his Magic Harp - A Tale of Myth and Magic on Saturday 24 January, Room on the Broom & The Snail and the Whale with NSOI - Live Screening in Concert on Sunday 8 February and Disco Tots (the new name for Baby Rave) on Saturday 14 February. Also, on Saturday 17 January Cór na nÓg invite singers between the ages of 9 and 13 to SINGALONG with Cór na nÓg!
NCH Discover activities also include Bring Along A Baby, Tea Dance Tunes and Special Schools Concert and Composers In The Classroom Gala Concert.

About the National Concert Hall
The National Concert Hall (NCH) is Ireland’s national cultural institution for music, proudly serving the Irish public since it opened in 1981 through live music performances and significant educational and cultural programmes. Based in the heart of Dublin’s city centre, next door to the picturesque Iveagh Gardens, the NCH is proud home to our National Symphony Orchestra, as well as providing residence for a range of other music organisations including Chamber Choir Ireland, Irish Baroque Orchestra, Music Network, Crash Ensemble and Music Generation. It is currently planning for a major redevelopment of all facilities as part of the National Development Plan and Project Ireland 2040.
