String Tutor Blow the Dust Orchestra Open Call
NOW RECRUITING String Tutor & Orchestral Assistant
Open Call for String Tutor and Orchestral Assistant for the NCH Blow the Dust Orchestra
Application deadline: Monday 27th July
The Blow the Dust Orchestra is the National Concert Hall’s resident community orchestra for older people, or those returning to playing their instrument. It is designed to encourage older people, who once played instruments, to take them out of their cases, dust them off, and join fellow musicians in rehearsing and performing together as an Orchestra.
This is a dual role combining music teaching and programme management support.
The postholder will help players keep their skills sharp (or rediscover them!) and prepare for performances through relaxed, encouraging tuition while assisting with the coordination of orchestra activities.
Central to the position is a firm belief that everyone is a musician, with an approach grounded in kindness, patience, and respect. This role suits someone who is both musically skilled and highly organised, with a strong commitment to community engagement and lifelong participation in the arts.
To Apply: Please email a cv and cover letter to education@nch.ie by Monday 27th July
