NCH Season Spring/Summer 2026 Pre-Concert Talks
Join us before selected concerts in the NCH Spring Summer Classical Season to hear from some of the wonderful artists performing in the season as well as the opportunity to delve deeper into the programme and repertoire for the performances.
Pre-Concert Talks take place in the Kevin Barry Recital Room and are free for ticketholders.
Concert: NSOI: Barry Douglas plays Shostakovich

Join Darren Moore, principal trumpet with National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, as he discusses his musical journey and explores this evening’s iconic repertoire. Chairing the discussion will be David Collins, Professor of Trumpet at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

Cellist Martin Johnson and composer Anselm McDonnell shall discuss their musical journeys and McDonnell's new composition. Chairing the discussion will be Siân Cunningham, CEO of Crash Ensemble.

Join Dr. Nicole Grimes, Associate Professor in Music at Trinity College Dublin, as she shares her insights on the work of women composers. Dr. Grimes presents this work as part of the public engagement activities for The Expansive Canvas (www.expansivecanvas.com).
