Four Seasons Chamber Music Series: inviting audiences on a journey through the seasons, with music exploring themes of light and shadow, water and ice, and the passing of time.

Leading Irish violinist, David Tobin, together with outstanding Cypriot pianist Andreas Ioannides and Hungarian rising star Johanna Keszei on flute, present a concert of spring, water, storytelling, and summertime. Beginning with Beethoven’s ‘Spring’ Sonata and finishing with William Wallace’s famous, ‘The Last Rose of Summer’, this programme promises colour, light, hope, and joy as we move through the seasons. In between, Keszei introduces us to Udine, the cheeky water spirit in search of true love, in Carl Reinecke’s programmatic interpretation of the German Romantic tale by Friedrich de la Motte Fouque. Finally, we are reminded of the history that lives and breathes in nature with the world premiere of Gráinne Mulvey’s ‘Fothrach’, meaning ‘ruin’ – a piece reflecting the ruins of Tara, the central seat of the high kings of Ireland, and the plunder that took place there.
