Primary Ensemble Project Collaboration Day

Presented in partnership with the Royal Irish Academy of Music, the Primary Ensemble Project is making a welcome return to rekindle and support the revival of ensemble music making in classrooms.

PEP is aimed at developing key areas of early ensemble playing in a vibrant and holistic programme. Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) specialist tutors visited schools in 2025 & 2026 to lead a series of four engaging and participative workshops. During these workshops, the tutors helped the schools’ young musicians to develop aural and technical skills alongside ensemble performance and improvisation techniques.

Following these workshops, on 27 April the ensembles will meet in the NCH and play with the other participating schools in our collaborative Performance Day. Family and friends can come along to hear your ensemble on Ireland’s most prestigious stage, in what promises to be a performance not to be missed!

Tickets will be allocated through the participating schools initially, please email education@nch.ie for further information. Remaining tickets will be available from 20 April at 10am.
