Ring out the old, ring in the new with all the Viennese glamour and gaiety of National Symphony Orchestra Ireland’s traditional New Year’s Day Gala with rising star conductor Tom Fetherstonhaugh and Classic FM Rising Star, soprano Ava Dodd. Revel in a sparkling collection of familiar favourites and welcome in 2026 in style.

Timeless lyrical jewels by the mighty Strauss dynasty include the champagne fizz of the Overture and ripe romance of the Czardas from Die Fledermaus, the fireworks-bright Thunder and Lightning Polka, the effervescent Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka, imperial pomp of the Emperor Waltz and martial splendour of the Radetzky March.

Lehár’s luxurious Gold and Silver Waltz and romantic ‘Vilja-Lied’ from The Merry Widow, and Korngold’s glittering Straussiana provide romance and rapture aplenty.

Vivacious rarities include the vocal version of the younger Johann Strauss’s Wiener Blut (Vienna Blood), as dreamily, deliriously romantic as the original, Joseph Hellmesberger’s Kleiner Anzeiger Galopp whipping breathlessly along, and Josef Arditi’s Il bacio – an irresistible invitation to ‘The Kiss’.
