NCH Presents Open Door Series with RIAM Young Artist Programme
National Concert Hall presents Open Door Series - a new free series in the John Field Room in which audience are invited to drop in, enjoy a coffee, and relax to music performed by exceptional young musicians.
The concerts will run from 1pm until 1:40pm, and will feature musicians from the Royal Irish Academy Young Artists Programme. Drop in when you can and stay as long as you like!
The Royal Irish Academy of Music Young Artist Programme is a pre-college pathway for high-potential young musicians who are considering professional musical training. Building on students’ individual lessons and ensemble experiences, the programme offers enhanced coaching, mentoring, and performance opportunities at a crucial stage of artistic development.
Young Artists are invited into a richly connected musical journey, where technical skill, musicianship and compositional understanding, repertoire and cultural knowledge, and performing artistry develop side by side. Grounded in RIAM’s values of Living in Music, Authentic Artistry and Listening, and High performance with Humility and Care, the programme encourages young musicians to listen deeply, think imaginatively, and perform with integrity and purpose.
Through supportive challenge, reflective learning, and meaningful performance experiences, the programme nurtures confident, thoughtful, and expressive young musicians — preparing them not only for further study, but for a lifelong, engaged relationship with music.
