We are currently seeking applications for the following roles

Appointments as Chairperson and Ordinary Member to the Board of the National Concert Hall

The Minster for Culture, Communications and Sport invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill vacancies in the positions of Chairperson and Ordinary Members on the Board of the National Concert Hall.

Essential

All candidates should have a demonstrable understanding of:

  • The role of a State Agency
  • Corporate Governance for State Bodies
  • Compliance responsibilities for Board members
  • Proven record of interest in the Arts with particular reference to Music.
  • Public Spending Code
  • Values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence

Ordinary Members

In addition to the above requirements, candidates for Ordinary Member positions must also demonstrate, in their application, evidence of experience at an appropriately senior level in one or more of the following areas:

  1. Leadership experience of delivering major Capital projects  
  2. Music Sector Knowledge
  3. Business & Governance
  4. Public Sector experience and Corporate Governance
  5. Future of work and Organisation Design

Chairperson

In addition to the other essential requirements to be demonstrated by all candidates, as outlined at the start of this section, candidates for the role of Chairperson must also demonstrate, in their application, evidence of experience at an appropriately senior level in two or more of the following:

  • Strategic development of a complex interconnected organisation.
  • Proven capability in Corporate Governance and Compliance
  • Leadership and chairing experience.
  • Excellent strategic, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sustainable development practice and principles, specifically in relation to the arts and culture sectors, and proven experience of communicating and advocating for these practices and principles at a senior level.
  • Experience of advocating for, and implementing of, greater diversity and inclusion in public services nationally or internationally, and ideally in the arts sector.

Desirable

For both Ordinary and Chairperson roles,

  • Appreciation and commitment to the NCH Artistic Vision & Values
  • Knowledge of the Irish Language
  • Experience in an area which would lead to familiarity with the work of the National Concert Hall
  • Knowledge of and lived experience in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), such as advocating for greater diversity and inclusion in public services, or the delivery of programmes and/or projects, with participation of, for example, multicultural, minority and disadvantaged groups in mind
  • Knowledge of sustainable development practice and principles
