Irish Baroque Orchestra
Associate Ensemble of the NCH
The Oliver Award-winning Irish Baroque Orchestra is acclaimed as Ireland's flagship period music ensemble and delivers world-class historically-informed performances across Ireland and abroad. Under the artistic direction of Peter Whelan, scholarship and musical excellence converge in a unique way through the IBO’s work, creating an original offering like no other organisation on the Irish classical music scene. Through this integration of research and practice the very idea of an orchestra is defined afresh, providing an unusual and enriching experience for today’s audiences.
As an ambassador for the stories of Ireland’s musical past, the IBO uses its unique perspective to develop the growing store of knowledge surrounding the very early days of Baroque and Classical music in Ireland. The IBO's research, recordings and performances offer audiences across Ireland a new opportunity to reevaluate and reclaim their cultural heritage, while also engaging the Irish diaspora through the increasing global reach of this work. Even Handel's Messiah - an annual touring highlight in the IBO calendar - is a rekindled link to Dublin's cultural life in 1742.
Irish Baroque Orchestra is proudly funded annually by the Arts Council of Ireland, Dublin City Council and is a resident company of the National Concert Hall Dublin.

Chamber Choir Ireland
Garnering a strong reputation for its unique approach to creative commissioning, recording and programming, Chamber Choir Ireland is the country’s flagship choral ensemble and national chamber choir under the Artistic Direction of the multi-award-winning conductor, Paul Hillier.
The choir’s programmes span from early renaissance to the present day, incorporating established choral classics with cutting edge commissions, and a style of performance that incorporates versatility, dynamism and often vocal pyrotechnics.

Crash Ensemble
Crash Ensemble, Ireland’s leading new music group joined the NCH as residents in 2017. Described as the ‘Irish new-music collective with international cachet and considerable chops’ (The Washington Post) Crash Ensemble celebrated 20 years in existence in 2017.

Music Network
Music Network is a national music touring and development organisation, founded in 1986 by the Arts Council. Over the 32 years of its existence, Music Network has contributed significantly to music development throughout Ireland through its national reach, development of touring infrastructure, and linking of arts policy with on the ground activity.
In January 2011, following an ambitious advocacy campaign for better music education provision in Ireland, Music Network was gifted a €7 million donation by U2 and The Ireland Funds that enabled the establishment of Music Generation.

Music Generation
Music Generation is Ireland’s National Music Education Programme, initiated by Music Network and co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds together with the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships.
Music Generation is currently established in 20 areas of Ireland, creating some 48,500 opportunities each year for children and young people to access music tuition in their own locality.
