Gloria! With the song of angels, the Goethe Choir returns to the NCH for their ever-popular Christmas concert. They are joined by outstanding local vocal and instrumental soloists to present spectacular seasonal choral music by Byrd, Bach, Vivaldi and others.

This year marks the 400th anniversary on William Byrd’s death, one of the greatest composers of the Renaissance. And JS Bach’s arrival in Leipzig in 1723, 300 years ago is fittingly celebrated with one of his exceptionally beautiful Christmas cantatas. Based once more in Venice, the 1720s also were the zenith of Antonio Vivaldi’s career. His rarely performed Dixit Dominus is a spectacular piece for two choir, two orchestras and trumpets.

Presented by Goethe Choir
