In 2019, we celebrate the second centenary of the birth of Clara Schumann and alongside works by this iconic female composer, we also feature other Irish and international female composers including Amy Beach, Lili Boulanger, Rhona Clarke, Rhoda Coghill and Joan Trimble. The 2019 programme also includes works by Beethoven, Brahms, Bartok, Dvorak, Gershwin, Liszt, Poulenc, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Schumann, Strauss and more!

2019 also marks the centenary of the outbreak of the Irish War of Independence (1919-1921). To  commemorate this important anniversary, the Festival is delighted to have commissioned two new works, one from prominent Irish composer Sam Perkin and the other from young British composer Lilly Vadaneaux.

We hope you enjoy this wonderful programme and we look forward to seeing you at the West Wicklow Festival in May 2019.
