National Concert Hall Announces Inaugural NCH International Master Course with Artistic Directors Finghin Collins and Gwendolyn Masin

The National Concert Hall is delighted to announce its inaugural International Master Course, led by Artistic Directors Finghin Collins (piano) and Gwendolyn Masin (violin), from the 6th to the 11th of August 2019.
In addition, NCH International Master Course Scholarships to the value of €2,200 will be awarded to three participants. The famed Swiss-Italian instrument maker Ivano Conti will also generously donate two bows – for violin and viola - to two deserving participants in the Course.
Over six days, 32 Irish and International participants will have the opportunity to enjoy solo and chamber music coaching at the highest levels from a faculty of acclaimed professional musicians; namely Finghin Collins (piano), Gwendolyn Masin (violin) together with Kirill Troussov, (violin), Maxim Rysanov (viola) and Miklós Perényi (cello). These musicians are all highly regarded soloists and chamber musicians who have performed in some of the world’s most illustrious concert halls and festivals. The wealth of their combined experience is outstanding, providing a unique and rare opportunity for Irish musicians.
Third level musicians will benefit from a minimum of five solo and chamber music coaching sessions with world-leading musicians, enjoying tuition in an intimate yet formal and professional setting.
Participants will also enjoy performance opportunities as there will be three public concerts; one for students, one faculty concert and a mixed concert comprising of both participants and faculty. (details of these concert will be announced at a later date).
Scholarships and Instruments
A number of scholarships will be available to selected participants, including at least one Irish player. There are two scholarships valued at €600 and one valued at €1,000.
Donated to the NCH and the International Master Course will be two bows- for violin and viola - made by Ivano Conti, the revered Swiss-Italian instrument maker.
Application Deadline for 2019 NCH International Master Course is Thursday 28th March 2019
Terms and Conditions
The deadline for applications is 5pm on 28th March 2019. This is the time and date by which all applications must be received.
A maximum of 32 participants will be accepted, approximately six pianists, twelve violinists, seven violists and seven cellists. Pre-formed Ensembles are also welcome.
The fee for the International Master Course is €600 (50% of which will be payable upon acceptance).
Successful applicants will be notified by 30th April 2019.
Applicants should be performing at Bachelor of Music level or higher; a select number of younger, gifted students may also be accepted.
