“Four Hands – Four Voices” showcases the exquisite repertoire for piano duo and voices. Welsh pianist Rebecca Cohen, finalist in the Das Lied International Song Competition, joins Niall Kinsella and four of Ireland’s finest emerging singers to perform Brahms’ Liebeslieder-Waltzer (Love-Song Waltzes) and Schumann’s Spanische Liebeslieder (Spanish Love Songs), plus delightful piano duets by Schubert.
Welsh pianist Rebecca Cohen is a Britten Pears Artist 2016-17, a Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Artist, Concordia Foundation Artist and Wigmore Hall Chamber Tots Artist 2017-18.
Rebecca is a graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she is now a staff accompanist. She studied at the Franz-Schubert-Institut, Baden-bei-Wien in July 2017.
She was a finalist in the Das Lied International Song Competition 2017 with soprano Nazan Fikret, which was filmed as part of a BBC4 documentary 'Becoming a Lied Singer: Thomas Quasthoff and the Art of German Song '. In May 2017 she made her debut at the Wigmore Hall alongside The Prince Consort in a programme including Schumann's Spanische Liebeslieder Op.138.
Irish pianist Niall Kinsella studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna and at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin. In July 2017, Niall studied at the prestigious Franz-Schubert-Institut, in Baden-be-Wien, Austria, where he worked with pianists Roger Vignoles, Julius Drake, Helmut Deutsch, Wolfram Rieger, and singers Elly Ameling, Robert Holl, Birgid Steinberger and Andreas Schmidt. In August 2018, he was a student of Lieder Interpretation at the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University, Salzburg
Niall has performed extensively as an accompanist throughout Europe - in Austria, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom and in Ireland - in venues such as Wiener Musikverein & Konzerthaus, Mozarthaus Vienna, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London, and regularly at Dublin’s National Concert Hall, where he curates and performs an annual series of song recitals.
They are joined by four of Ireland’s leading emerging singers, soprano Maria McGrann (NI Opera, Irish National Opera), mezzo-soprano Sarah Richmond (NI Opera, Wexford Festival Opera), tenor Andrew Gavin (Wexford Festival Opera, Irish National Opera) and baritone Kevin Neville (NI Opera, Irish National Opera), who are fast establishing themselves on the opera stage and concert platform.
