The Irish Association of Youth Orchestras is delighted to return to the National Concert Hall Dublin for their annual Festival of Youth Orchestras!
The Festival is the annual celebration of youth orchestras and the young musicians of Ireland with a great variety of music played by young people, for young people.
This year’s Festival will see performances from EA City of Belfast School of Music Junior Chamber Orchestra, Music Generation Louth Senior String Orchestra, Dundalk Grammar School Orchestra, Irish Midlands Youth Orchestra and Queen’s University Symphony Orchestra.
The 2022 edition will once again see young musicians from across Ireland take to the stage to perform classical works and modern arrangements for youth orchestra in a variety of styles. The concert will feature classics such as the Waltz from Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky, two movements from The Firebird Suite by Stravinsky, and the beautiful Palladio by Karl Jenkins along with music from the movies including Pirates of the Caribbean, The Hunger Games and Gone with the Wind, a traditional Irish work by Michael Rooney and plenty more!
It’s a family friendly event not to be missed!
The Festival of Youth Orchestras is funded by The Arts Council and supported by RTÉ Supporting the Arts.
