The Festival of Youth Orchestras is the annual celebration of youth orchestras in Ireland and their members with a diverse variety of music played by young people, for young people – from the standard classical repertoire to music from the movies, pop tunes arranged for orchestra, Irish traditional, and new music by Irish composers.
The 2019 edition will feature classics such as the Festival Overture by Tchaikowsky, a movement of Telemann’s Concerto in G, Serenade for Strings by Elgar, the lively Danzon No. 2 by Marquez, along with performances of music from La La Land, pop classics such as All of Me and James Brown’s I Got You and modern Irish works by Oonagh Keogh, Charlie Lennon and more.
Presented by the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras
