Simon Taylor, CEO of the National Concert Hall said:
“These rooms are of significant historical importance; between December 14th 1921 and January 10th 1922 they were the setting for the treaty ratification debates of the second Dáil Éireann, following the signing of the Anglo Irish Treaty in London on December 6th. It is fitting that the rooms should be restored and re-purposed in this, the Ireland 2016 centenary year. The room will provide a platform for artists to perform more intimate concerts of all genres, allowing us to reach out to new audiences and expand our programme offering. We very much look forward to welcoming audiences and performers into this new space.”
