The National Concert Hall celebrates Christmas with ‘12 Days of Christmas Giveaway’

12 Fantastic prizes to give away, every day, starting Monday 8 December

The National Concert Hall celebrates the Christmas season with its ‘12 Days of Christmas Giveaway’, the first day of which is Tuesday 8 December. A different prize will be revealed each day on the National Concert Hall’s Facebook page. Those who are already on the National Concert Hall’s Facebook page will be asked to ‘like’ the post with the option to share it with their own Friends using #NCH12days to be in with a chance of winning. For those who are not already a Facebook friend of the National Concert Hall, this is an opportunity to join and be in with a chance to win one of these 12 prizes.

The prizes on offer range from family tickets to The Snowman Family Christmas show and Festival Productions Oliver the Musical, as well as tickets to hear one of the world’s greatest opera stars Angela Gheorghiu in a gala concert with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra with an overnight stay at the Shelbourne Hotel. There is also the opportunity to a membership to the Friends of the National Concert Hall; a gift that lasts the whole year and entitled the winners to priority booking, ticket discounts, dedicated booking lines, advance notice of concerts and so much more.

#NCH12days PRIZES

  • Overnight Stay for two people in The Shelbourne Hotel on Saturday 12 December plus two premium tickets to the hear the renowned Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor John Storgårds and the winner of the 2015 Sibelius Violin Competition in an all-Sibelius programme, plus complimentary programmes.
  • Family ticket (2 adults/2 children) to the National Concert Hall Family Christmas Show featuring The Snowman Movie screening accompanied by Howard Blake’s score played live by the Orchestra of the National Concert Hall (7pm show on Saturday 19th). This prize also includes dinner for the family in Wagamama’s on South King Street, Dublin 2 at 5pm on the same evening.
  • Family ticket (2 adults/2 children) to the celebrated Christmas show Oliver The Musical brought to the National Concert Hall by Festival Productions (6pm show on Sunday 3 January). The spectacular full-staged and costumed production stars Tony Finnegan as the incomparable Fagin, alongside the Festival orchestra, chorus and dancers.
  • Two tickets to hear the famed American jazz pianist Brad Mehdlau at the National Concert Hall, Wednesday 16th December performing ‘Three pieces for Piano after Bach’ plus pieces from The Well-Tempered Clavier and selected jazz compositions by Mehldau. The offer also includes dinner for two, plus cocktails in Wagamama’s on South King Street, Dublin 2 at 6pm.
  • Two tickets to the special New Year's Eve celebration of musical theatre in the company of Julian Ovenden of Downton Abbey, The Royal and Foyle’s War. Julian, who has been acclaimed at the BBC Proms, the West End and on Broadway will be accompanied by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. This offer also includes a special New Year’s Eve meal for two people at the Cliff Town House restaurant, on Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2 (at 8pm Thursday 31st December, concert starts at 10pm).
  • Four tickets to hear American pianist Jeremy Denk paying homage ot the great Johann Sebastian Bach with a performance his Goldberg Variations (Thursday 4 February 8pm). The prize also includes finger food and bottle of Prosecco for four people at the Black Door on Harcourt Street for 5.30pm on the day of the concert.
  • A Family Ticket (2 adults/2 children) to the Oscar-winning short animated film, Peter & the Wolf screened and accompanied by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra performing Prokofiev’s magnificent score live (3pm on Sunday 31st January).
  • Two tickets to hear one of the most gifted opera singers of our time, Angela Gheorghiu in a special gala concert of popular operatic arias with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra (Saturday 12 March). The prize also includes an overnight stay for two in luxurious Shelbourne Hotel on St. Stephen’s green for the same night.
  • Two course evening meal plus a bottle of wine for two in Terrace café complimentary of WithTaste, with two tickets to ‘England’ (29 March) as part of Imagining Home (Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme). Hosted by John Kelly this concert celebrates the musical interplay between Ireland and England and features Camille O’Sullivan, Cait O’Riordan, Paul Brady, Andy Irvine, Cathal Coughlan, Lisa O’Neill and others.
  • Imagining Home gathers some of Ireland’s leading musicians, writers, thinkers and acclaimed artists in a series of seven concerts as part of the Ireland 2016 Centenary programme. ‘Into Europe’ (30 March) explores Ireland’s place in European culture and features Lisa Dwan performing Beckett’s Not I and Footfalls, Fintan O’Toole on Casement and pianist Barry Douglas with Camera Ireland. Win two tickets to this concert plus an evening meal two in the Terrace café, compliments of WithTaste on site at the National Concert Hall.   
  • Two tickets to Bizet’s famed-opera Carmen, starring the critically acclaimed Romanian mezzo Liza Kadelinik with a brand new set reflecting the stunning architecture of Seville, Saturday 23 April at 7.30pm (Sung in French with English surtitles)   
  • Win a National Concert Hall Friend’s Membership for 2016. What do you have to do to enter?

Each day, starting Tuesday 8th December (excluding Saturdays and Sundays), the National Concert Hall will post a new prize on its Facebook page. If you already follow the National Concert Hall all you have to do is ‘like’ the post and if you wish, you may share it with your friends. A winner will be picked at random and will be notified by the National Concert Hall within 24 hours.

The #nch12days Competition will start Tuesday 8th December and run for 12 days.

  • The National Concert Hall’s decision regarding prize-winners will be final and no correspondence regarding that decision will be entered into.
  • The National Concert Hall prizes are non-transferable and will be only awarded to the prize-winner.
  • The National Concert Hall will ensure that all prizes are delivered within a 28 day period from day of winning. Where this is not possible the National Concert Hall will notify the prize-winner of the delay.
  • No cash alternative will be offered
  • Any person or persons found to be in disregard of any of the above rules will be disqualified automatically. The National Concert Hall reserves the right to disqualify any contestant for any reason whatsoever in its sole discretion.
