One of the seminal artists of our time, Laurie Anderson will take up a unique three- day residency at the NCH this May to create and debut three exclusive performances: Saturday 13th May, 8pm The Language of the Future; Sunday 14th May, 8pm Talking Book (a collection of stories from Laurie Anderson’s forthcoming book All the Things That I Lost in the Flood ); Monday 15th May, 8pm Improv! (featuring work from Laurie’s collaborations with Rubin Kodheli as well as work with hardanger player Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh).

"One of the jazz history’s most iconoclastic figures" (The Times) composer and pianist Carla Bley will make her NCH debut with her trio including Steve Swallow, double-bass and Andy Sheppard, saxophone on 25th May 2017, 8pm.

On Thursday 29th June 2017, "the biggest thing to hit jazz for years” (BBC) Kamasi Washington, the California-based jazz saxophonist, will perform his only Irish concert this year.

Female powerhouse of Throwing Muses, American songwriter Kristin Hersh performs a rare solo concert featuring words and song from her most recent album Wyatt at the Coyote Palace on Sunday 23rd July 2017.

Magnetic Fields songwriter, producer and vocalist Stephin Merritt, the master craftsman behind Magnetic Fields’ 69 Love Songs, celebrates his 50th birthday with a new album entitled the Magnetic Fields 50 Song Memoir which he performs with his band in two unique concerts on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th August 2017.

*On Friday 6th October the famed Norwegian recording artist and writer Jenny Hval, whose solo album Blood Bitches was one of the most acclaimed releases in 2016, will present her most recent work in a unique event.

On 23rd and 24th of October, saxophonist and leader of David Bowie's Blackstar band, Donny McCaslin performs music from Beyond Now, a highly anticipated album dedicated to Bowie.

*On Thursday 2nd November 2017, the NCH will play host to In My Mind: Thelonious Monk at Town Hall 1959 with American based pianist and composer Jason Moran and the Bandwagon Sextet. The event marks the centenary of the birth of Thelonious Monk and celebrates the legacy of the great American jazz artist.

*On Monday 13th November twenty-time Grammy winning guitarist Pat Metheny joins us on his 2017 tour around the world for “An Evening with Pat Metheny”. He presents a range of music from throughout his career with notable band members Antonio Sanchez, drums, Linda Oh, bass and Gwilym Simcock, piano.

*Combining technical prowess with a truly eclectic taste in music, pianist Brad Mehldau presents his first Dublin performance with his trio in many years on Tuesday 8th May 2018, with his longstanding trio - bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Jeff Ballard.

*On 28th June 2018, the early music master Jordi Savall joins HESPÈRION XXI with invited musicians from Syria, Israel, Turkey, Morocco, Greece and Armenia to perform non-Western repertoires in an Homage to Syria.
