Redevelopment
The National Concert Hall has embarked on an ambitious programme of redevelopment that will transform the site at Earlsfort Terrace into a world-class, multi-venue performance space.

Our Vision
The Board of the National Concert Hall has been convinced for some time that the Hall has the potential to become a leading international performing arts centre. Now an exciting programme of redevelopment is set to realise that potential.
Our vision is to establish the National Concert Hall as one of the top ten symphonic concert halls in the world. The redeveloped National Concert Hall will constitute a major new cultural landmark, attracting a host of international performers and enriching the cultural life of Ireland.
Three Spaces
The redeveloped site will contain three performance spaces:
• A new auditorium with 2,050 seats, capable of accommodating major national and international performances
• The present auditorium, upgraded and used to present concerts and rehearsals, and semi stage opera and dance with a capacity of more than 1,000.
• A third, flexible chamber music space with around 400 seats.
Development Schedule
The National Concert Hall is delighted that the government has taken the opportunity to acquire the site and to begin detailed planning. Building is set to commence in 2010 and will be carried out on a phased basis to ensure that the National Concert Hall continues to operate during construction.
